Dr. Jamil Ahmed, Project Director
Dr. Jamil Ahmed has been associated with the Department of Computing and Technology, Iqra University Islamabad Campus for more than 6 years. He did his PhD from Kings College London in 1995. He has teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels at the GIK Institute, Topi, Pakistan and University of Bahrain, State of Bahrain. His research interests are in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks, Pattern recognition, and Database Management System. Dr. Ahmed is a Member of IEEE and the Dean of the Iqra University Islamabad Campus. He has supervised many Masters and PhD students. He has been actively pursuing research in the field of character recgnition
 
Dr. Syed Ismail Shah, Project Advisor
Syed Ismail Shah , has been associated with the Department of Computing and Technology, Iqra University Islamabad Campus for more than 5 years and is also the Executive Director Central Asian CDMA Forum (CACF). He started his professional carrier in 1989 by joining the Telecommunication division of Siemens Engineering Company, Islamabad, Pakistan. Dr. Shah did his PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA. During and after his PhD he worked at the University of Pittsburgh. On his return to Pakistan in 1998 he joined the GIK Institute. In 2000, he joined Enabling Technologies and later, the Center for Advanced Research and Studies in Engineering. Dr. Shah joined the Department of Computing and Technology, Iqra University Islamabad Campus in 2004. He is a Qualcomm certified trainer on 3G technologies. Dr. Shah is a Life Member of the Pakistan Engineering Council, Senior Member, IEEE, USA and Member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, Japan.

 
Muhammad Raza ur Rehman, Joint Project Director
Raza , completed his Masters in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA in 2008 and since then he has been associated with IQRA University Islamabad Campus as an Assistant Professor. His main focus has been on computer networks. He has presented his work on mobile computing in NOKIA SIEMENS NETWORK IMS COMPETITION in Georgia Tech. Before that he has also worked in Center for Advanced Research in Engineering(http://www.carepvtltd.com), Pakistan as well. Currently he is involved in varioud mobile computing related products like Location aware social networks for the mobile phones etc

Zulfiqar Ali, Team Lead Image Pre Processing Group
Zulfiqar "is the Team Lead of Image Processing team in OCR project. He is currently working with NESCOM as consultant (Signal Processing and ASIC design) since 2007 and heading signal processing and ASIC design group there. His expertise and research interests are Machine Vision, Pattern Recognition, Signal Processing and Application Specific ASIC design. He is currently leading his team in a Radar development project where he is responsible in design and development of FPGA based Radar signal processor, Radar data processor and displays. Before NESCOM he served CARE private limited from 2004 to 2007, where he worked as member of Machine Vision group. He was responsible of developing machine vision, pattern classification algorithms and FPGA based processors for those algorithms. During his stay at CARE he also worked in design and developed of different hardware based interfaces. He served in LIMIT from 2002 to 2004 where he worked on different embedded devices mostly for robotic controls. "

Emad Ud Din, Team Lead Pattern Matching Group
Emad ud Din is currently working as an Assistant Professor in NUST. His major area of interest is Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. He has worked on different AI related projects during his association with the University of Southern California, USA as a Research Associate at the Interaction Lab
