Syed Ismail Shah, is associated with the Department of Computing and Technology, Iqra University Islamabad Campus and is also the Executive Director Central Asian CDMA Forum (CACF). He started his professional carrier in 1989 by joining the Telecommunication division of Siemens Engineering Company, Islamabad, Pakistan. Dr. Shah did his PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA. During and after his PhD he worked at the University of Pittsburgh. On his return to Pakistan in 1998 he joined the GIK Institute. In 2000, he joined Enabling Technologies and later, the Center for Advanced Research and Studies in Engineering. Dr. Shah joined the Department of Computing and Technology, Iqra University Islamabad Campus in 2004. He is a Qualcomm certified trainer on 3G technologies. Dr. Shah is a Life Member of the Pakistan Engineering Council, Senior Member, IEEE, USA and Member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, Japan.
Jamil Ahmad, PhD
Jamil Ahmed is associated with the Department of Computing and Technology, Iqra University Islamabad Campus. He did his PhD from Kings College London in 1995. He has teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels at the GIK Institute, Topi, Pakistan and University of Bahrain, State of Bahrain. His research interests are in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks, Pattern recognition, and Database Management System. Dr. Ahmed is a Member of IEEE and the Dean of the Iqra University Islamabad Campus. He has supervised many Masters and PhD students.
Qasim Mahmood Chaudhari, PhD
Qasim Mahmood Chaudhari received the BE degree in Electrical Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan in 2001. He worked with Communications Enabling Technologies from 2001 to 2002 in SoC Tools group. He received MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California in 2004 and PhD in Electircal Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2008. He has worked as an intern in Qualcomm Inc. in HSDPA performance test team in 2005/06. Currently, he is holding an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Iqra University, Pakistan. His areas of interest are digital communications, estimation and detection theory, and synchronization in wireless sensor networks .
Irfan Ahmad, PhD
Irfan Ahmed received the B.E. degree from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan, in 1999, the M.S. degree from CASE, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2003, and the PhD degree from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in 2008. He is currently a senior manager in CDMA based Wireless Local Loop department of Pakistan Telecommunication Company. His research interests include wireless LAN (WLAN) medium access control (MAC) protocol design and analysis, cooperative communications, MIMO communications, performance analysis of wireless channels, energy constrained wireless networks, and cognitive radio networks. Dr. Irfan served as session chair of the IEEE Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing conference held in Shanghai, China, in September 2007. He is an active reviewer of IEEE Transaction on wireless communications, ICC and VTC.”
Adnan Ahmed Khan, PhD
Adnan Ahmad Khan graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer in 1993 from the College of Telecommunications Engineering, Rawalpindi with a BE degree from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore. He received his MS in Computer Engineering from the Centre of Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) Islamabad, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila in 2005. He did his PhD from CASE in 2008. His research interests include MIMO wireless communications systems, MIMO-CDMA, CDMA-MUD, Software Defined Radios and WiMAX systems. He has published a number of research papers in renowned conferences and journals.
Sajid Bashir, MS
Sajid Bashir received the BE degree in Electrical Engineering from College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Rawalpindi, University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, Pakistan in 1993. He received MS in Computer Engineering from Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) Islamabad, Pakistan in 2005 and is pursuing his PhD from the same institution. He worked with Communications and Signal Processing Group at Imperial College London in 2008. His research interests include detection and estimation for MIMO wireless communications.
Yasir Javed, MS
Yasir Javed received the BE degree in Computer Systems Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan in 2001. He worked with Communications Enabling Technologies from 2001 to 2003 in VLSI group. He worked with CARE (Center for Advanced Research in Engineering) from 2003 to 2008 on hardware design and implementation of Digital Communication and Machine Vision systems. He received MS degree in Computer Systems Engineering from CASE (Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering), Islamabad in 2006. Currently, he is holding an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Iqra University, Pakistan. His research interests include Top-level System Layout, Hardware-Software partitioning and FPGA based hardware design.
Wasif Latif, BSEE
Wasif Latif is working as embedded engineer in MIMO research group in the Department of Computing and Technology at Iqra University Islamabad, Pakistan since 2008. He has experience in optimization, DSP programming and embedded system design. His research interest includes hardware-software partitioning, design and simulation of real time embedded systems. He received his B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila, Pakistan in 2001. He worked with Communication Enabling Technologies from 2001 to 2003 in DSP software optimization group. Later on, he worked with CARE (Center for Advanced Research in Engineering) Private Limited from 2003 to 2008 as design engineer on various embedded projects.
Muhammad Azam, BSEE
Muhammad Azam received his B.E degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Telecommunications from National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan in 2003. He worked with Center for Advanced Research in Engineering from 2003 to 2008 in Communication System Design Group. He is currently working with IQRA University on real time MIMO-OFDM testbed design. His research interests are single and multi carrier receiver design in general and synchronization and channel estimation in particular.”
Khawaja Tauseef Tasneem, MS
Khawaja Tauseef Tasneem did his Bachelors in Computer Science from Bahria Institute of Management and Computer Sciences in 2002 and Master of Science in Electronics Engineering from Muhammad Ali Jinnah University in 2006. He is currently working with the Department of Computing and Technology, Iqra University Islamabad Campus as Assistant Professor and a Researcher in the project for the development of a MIMO testbed. His research interests include multiuser detection techniques for CDMA systems and receiver design for MIMO and Cooperative MIMO communication systems
Malik Muhammad Usman Gul, BSEE
Malik M. Usman Gul received his B.E degree in Electrical Engineering from College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 2003. He worked as an Internee at Electro Control Industries Islamabad, Pakistan from 07/2005 to 09/2005. He started M.S in Electrical Engineering from NUST in 2007, and is currently working on his thesis. Besides, he has been working as Research Engineer in MIMO Research Group at IQRA University, Islamabad since 07/2008. His research interests include Channel estimation and Blind Equalization. Currently, he is working on channel estimation in MIMO-OFDM and Frequency domain Blind Equalization.
Hussain Ali
Hussain Ali received the BE Degree in Electrical (Telecommunication) Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan in 2007. He worked with Nokia Siemens Networks on Telenor Pakistan Project as BSS & Transmission Engineer from 2007 to 2008. Currently he is working on MIMO project. His area of study is computationally efficient MIMO detection algorithms and techniques especially sphere decoding algorithm.
